He has always been involved in clinical and translational studies on GI and liver oncology, he has been the secretary of the Italian Society of gastroenterology, now leading the society Scientific Committee. He is the founder of the ITALICA multicentre multidisciplinary group on HCC management. He has been member of the Scientific Committee of the department of Surgery, Oncology and Gastroenterology and is now a member of the Consulting Committee of the Department.
